Finding support for your child shouldn’t leave you feeling hopeless.

Many parents of children with disabilities or medical challenges struggle to find programs that cater to their children's unique needs—and the ones that do often come with a hefty price tag. The search for enriching and affordable support can feel impossible.

At Reins of Hope, we understand these challenges. We offer a welcoming, faith-based community where equine-assisted activities bring joy to children with special needs, completely free of charge. From basic horse care and gentle interaction to full riding lessons, our activities can accommodate every level of support needs.

How Equine Therapy Supports Your Child

Builds Strength

Riding horses can help children develop balance, coordination, core strength, and more.

Concentration & Sensory Needs

Working with horses can boost attention span, concentration, and sensory processing skills in children with special needs.

Comfort &
Self-Esteem

Horses help children feel comfortable and build confidence through interaction and care.

Life Skills

Children with disabilities can learn valuable life skills like responsibility, patience, and teamwork through hands-on activities with horses.

Why Horses?

Horses have developed advanced skills for communication, forming groups, and understanding boundaries. When we work with them, we can learn these skills, too.

As prey animals, horses are very sensitive. They can pick up on our feelings and intentions. They always give honest and immediate reactions, which helps people connect with their true selves. Through interacting with horses, people can experience honesty and acceptance. This can help them build these qualities in their own lives.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

– Philippians 4:13

A Calling to Serve

“Reins of Hope began with a heartfelt calling — a belief that horses could profoundly impact children’s lives.

From my childhood connection with horses to comforting my granddaughter during her battle with cancer, this vision grew into a God-given mission to support children with disabilities through equine-assisted activities.

With the support of family and a beautiful property now in place, we’re excited to offer a special place where children can find peace, joy, and growth.”
